What it offers

The 2078309 is an 8-inch manual stripper and cutter listed for 10–22 AWG wire. It also provides plier-style gripping and terminal-crimping features.

The key buying check

Check wire gauge, conductor type and terminal requirements. A multifunction hand tool is not an insulated tool or a substitute for a specified crimping system.

When to choose another option

The wire or terminals fall outside the tool’s specifications.

Start with the work you need to do and the equipment you already own. Compare the complete setup cost, including any required accessories, consumables or power source.

Where it fits in your workshop

Organize wire, terminals and tools by size to reduce mix-ups. Disconnect power before working, and use the correct procedure and tools for the equipment being repaired.
